I’m a parent, teacher, psychologist, author and researcher, sometimes all at the same time 😀

I was born in Nottingham and grew up in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. After graduating as a special needs teacher from Lancaster University, I spent the early years of my career in special schools in Liverpool, before qualifying as an educational psychologist.  I have notched up more than 30 years of experience in teaching, assessment and educational guidance.  My work has taken me to schools, colleges and universities all over the world, but for the moment I live and practice in Dublin.  My research has focused on supporting the transition from school to college or employment, and much of my practice is concerned with supporting children and young adults with literacy difficulties, social skills, and managing school transitions. I’m also lucky enough to get out and about, speaking at conferences, providing workshops to parent and community support groups, and guest lectures to colleges and universities. I’d like to be more involved in disability awareness training for employers…. still waiting for that call though 😉

Included in these pages are references to websites, products, people and other transition tools.  I do not receive any payment or other reward for bringing these to your attention.  If I see or hear something that I like, I share it.
